Reynald (Rey) Valme, who started his music career late in the 70's, became a member of Tabou Combo in the early 80's after it was agreed that Fanfan, the band's congas player then was to join Shoubou up front. Reynald had played with DP Express, Caribbean Sextet, and Jimmy Buffet.
